This week I am convinced that this baby is never coming out! At least on it's own accord. I am beginning to prepare myself to go a full two weeks overdue, and then be induced. I figure if I think that way, anything sooner than that will be a welcome surprise! I am still praying to be earlier than later, and that the baby will decide on it's own to make an appearance. It would be VERY nice if the baby would arrive before Monday. If it doesn't, my hubby and I might be stuck in Hawaii for the
second year in a row without being able to... well, you know... do married couple things. So, hopefully baby comes.
I haven't felt anything that I could describe as contractions yet. I do get lots of aches and pressure down there. At night this baby is constantly moving, and that causes a lot of interesting "grinding" feelings, and sharp little pangs of discomfort. Did anyone else not really experience Braxton Hicks?
In the meantime, here is the photo to celebrate my 39th week of pregnancy - which is almost over!

I didn't have any braxton hicks with Ben. Course... I was two weeks late. I know the feeling that the baby will never come all too well. I was actually going in to be induced and went into labor the night before... I'll be praying the baby comes all on it's own and soonish rather than laterish.
I feel for you....it's funny how all pregnant women start sounding the same in their final days.
Hopefully the day comes soon.
Hi Heather,
this is Irene (the one expecting her fifth child, Lianes sister i.l.)
The last days and nights seemed sooo long for me. It felt like I had this huge tummy for years already and that it would stay forever. But later it helped me going through labour pain. I knew with evry contruction I am closer to having my baby in my arms and finally loosing this huge tummy!
Praying for you and your little one!
Irene
Ok I don't get it...are you in Hawaii right now? Are you going to Hawaii? haha I'm so out of the loop, but I guess that happens, because I don't know you and have never met you! lol
I didnt have braxton hicks with my 1st pregnancy. None really until I went into early labor (at 34 weeks).. and then again at 37.
With this pregnancy Ive had them A LOT. So much that I think this one will come earlier than my 1st.
Hopefully you wont be two weeks overdue... that can be really hard on a woman.
You look great though :-)
You look great, Heather. I know the "never coming out" feeling you're referring to. After I had the flu and the false alarm 2.5 weeks ago, I didn't think I'd make it this far either!
I never noticed Braxton Hicks with Micah. I've heard they get more noticeable with each pregnancy. But, even though I didn't feel them, I was, in fact, contracting and starting to dilate. (My water broke and I went to the hospital and didn't think I was contracting, but they were picking up contractions on their monitors.) So, don't despair, your body is probably getting ready without you even knowing it! I can't wait to hear your news!
Renee - We are not in Hawaii right now (although that would be nice), but we have a vacation scheduled there for the end of December!
Your baby WILL come out. I promise. But your feelings are familiar to me...and I'm sure I'll be thinking them again in about 6 months or so.
Just to reassure you: There is no case EVER recorded of a woman staying pregnant forver.
(I don't want to discourage you or offend you by this next part of my comment....I went back and forth about writing it in my mind and decided that you are the kind of person who would get a kick out of this, and not be the kind of person to freak out that you will be pregnant for 3 more months and beat the record)
Just to be sure though, I did google "longest pregnancy record" and came across a lady who says she was pregnant for 375 days (over 12 months!). Check out the 1945 article below...it seems a little sketchy.

Praying for you Heather...for patience and endurance for the final days. Your baby WILL come. And it will be safe in your arms VERY soon.
Hahaha! You're right Amber, I'm sure no one has ever been prego FOREVER. The article is a little sketchy, and I don't think my doctor is going to let me go for that long. I think I'm just impatient, because I am not even horrendously uncomfortable yet.
looking beautiful as always my dear. i never had braxton hicks...not a one.
I never had Braxton Hicks with my first baby, and it's way too early to have them now (as I'm only 14 weeks!), but I', curious to see if I will have them this time
I had braxton hicks for the last 2 months with Chloe. They weren't painful or anything. It was like I was flexing my non-existent abs. My belly would go from round to kind of pointy. It was neat. I was overdue with Chloe. At my appontment the day before my "due date" my dr realised I was probably 10 past and I was induced the next day. When Chloe was born, my dr said I probably wasn't as late as she thought but said that if I had gone another week she would have had to be delivered by c-section as she would have been too big to deliver naturally. She was already 9 pounds when she was born. I chalk it up to a God thing that it happened the way it did.
