Oh, I so remember those days! It actually only lasted a month, I think at a time. I believe we finally just stopped the meal at the point where he started to do that and he caught on real quick. I was so hard not to laugh - my husband and I actually would have our faces turned away from Rhys laughing because we didn't want ot encourage him. I think they just like the feel of the food and their lips and the sound it makes when they do.
James is so adorable, all the time!

LOL. HE IS SOOOO CUTE!

Sam does this thing, and Ben did it too, where he just randomly spits wherever he goes. And I'm not talking about drooling. I'm talking about actual spitting huge gobs of saliva on purpose. Now that he is walking instead of crawling, he doesn't do it as much, I suppose it's because he used to get a better view of it hitting the floor on his hands and knees. He also liked to do it in the Jolly Jumper. He would lean way out so he could watch it come out of his mouth and hit the floor. Then he'd kind of swish it around with his foot. It was funny, but a pain to have to follow him around with a paper towel wiping up his gobs of spit... Or to miss some gobs and step in it and get my socks all wet. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Babies are weird. So weird.

Drea - I started James on cereal pretty early, I think at about 3 months, because he wasn't sleeping well (even though it never helped, I just kept giving it to him). Then, when I started him on formula full-time I was nervous about him being constipated, so upon someone's advice, I gave him a little bit of fruit (pears and apples) every day. That was at about 4 months. Now he eats most veggies, and I tried chicken with broth this week, but he totally gagged on it. He also eats Baby Mum-Mum cookies. Have you ever seen those? They basically melt in the baby's mouth.

haha, Heather that is so weird that you know people that have the same problem with a crazy robin! I had never heard of this before!
And I think I'm gonna try those mum mum cookies, cuz I give the arrowroot ones to Daniel and he usually chokes on them!

I remember when my kids were younger and doing that. It was so frustrating when you were trying to feed them, but it is so cute. Great video of James

What a cutie pie! I can see how it's frustrating to feed a spitting baby, but from this end, I can say he is pretty darn cute! I love his huge eyes!!

Heather, I'm not sure how much time they will have. If they have time I'll ask them to talk to you guys about your trees!

haha very cute! I think I had many of the same feelings when Kalia did that. Where do they learn it?!

Taeya STILL does it...but she knows her meal will be over if she keeps it up. We laughed the first few times, but then realized that just made it worse. But it's cute when someone else's kid does it :)

My niece Dana does that all the time too. It is funny because I am not the mom!
